With an early introduction to design and construction, Bito developed a deep passion for architecture that shaped his professional path. He began his academic journey at Veritas University and later transferred to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where he earned his Bachelor of Architecture and was recognized on the President’s Honor Roll for academic excellence.

Bito launched his career at LDA Architects in San Francisco, contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects while also leading the implementation of BIM standards across the firm. This early leadership role demonstrated his commitment to innovation, technology, and design efficiency.

In 2020, Bito co-founded Flacorp LLC and relocated to North Carolina, where he continues to be an active partner. While he has not sold his shares in Flacorp, the company now operates as a strategic partner to Modus Design Build. Together, they collaborate on projects throughout North Carolina, combining resources and expertise to deliver exceptional results across residential and commercial sectors.

At Modus Design Build, Bito brings a rare combination of skills in architecture, interior design, general contracting, and graphic design, offering clients a truly integrated design-build experience. His ability to see a project from every angle—from concept to construction—allows him to deliver thoughtful, buildable solutions without sacrificing aesthetics or functionality.

Known for his strong client relationships and hands-on approach, Bito has built a reputation for trust, creativity, and reliability. Many of his clients are repeat collaborators or referrals, a testament to the quality of work and personal investment he brings to every project. With over 30 years of experience in architecture, development, and construction, Fabio Lemos Mejia brings a wealth of expertise to Modus Design Build. He earned his Master’s degree in Architecture from UCLA in 1994 and has since led a broad range of projects across the United States and Latin America, including residential communities, commercial developments, and mixed-use urban planning.

Fabio’s professional journey began with a strong foundation in design strategy and technical execution, which evolved into a career focused on project feasibility, value engineering, and team leadership. Known for his ability to manage complex developments from early concept to final delivery, he has consistently delivered results through hands-on involvement and cross-disciplinary coordination. His focus on efficiency, buildability, and long-term value has made him a trusted advisor to clients, investors, and design teams alike.

He is currently a Principal at Flacorp LLC, where he continues to oversee key development efforts both locally and internationally. While maintaining his role at Flacorp, Fabio works in close partnership with Modus Design Build, contributing his experience and leadership to residential and mixed-use projects across North Carolina. This collaboration brings together decades of experience and a shared commitment to design excellence, construction integrity, and client satisfaction.
